Not many of them are 'his' (except in the same sense that Kennedy Scanlan and Lonegan 'belong' to Ned Kelly). The ironic IWTS was written by Bruce Johnston, Mandy was originally called Brandy and written as a reggae song, he did a couple of Four Seasons numbers. Most of the others were Bette Midler or Melissa Manchester's rejects.

Twenty years ago there was an article recounting how a local council played Manilow songs over loudspeakers in public spaces late at night in order to deter local youths from gathering ... a very successful program, apparently.

Maria Doyle Kennedy. Alumnif the Commitments. Also an actress - see Orphan Black,Outlanders and the Tudors. She possesses a glorious r and b voice. Google "Stuck". Wonderful.

My youngest steppie and I were discussing Nick Cave over the weekend. She told me one of his songs I like, "Oh Children" features in a Harry Potter movie.
This for me is even more bizarre than Mitch Marsh's batting average exceeding 30.
