Challenges before Indian cricket

how does one be #1 in T20 + ODI + Tests at the same time ?

BCCI has the envious tasks of not only managing the biggest purse string bounty in cricket but also to manage a world beating side in all forms of the game.

Given this envious task how does it square up with managing a renegade status at ICC.

Should the ICC be replaced by the BCCI as the defacto chief sponsor of world cricket ?

The test no.1 position will quickly slide down to bottom positions with NZ, pak and WI once Laxman, SRT and Dravid are gone. The challenge for BCCI is not to try and be number 1 in all forms of the game [which is impossible for any single team and since T20 is jackass lottery tournament still evolving]. We are still inconsistant in ODIs a tad, but we can still hold the fort there. The real challenge is to have a test team that will even hold it's own at home once the last of the legends retire from the current team. We don't have any good test replacements for them and no place to try any 'worthy' youngster in the middle with the likes of Yuvraj hogging the middle order. The middle order will be the weakest with too much pressure on our openers once the inevitable comes upon us...
