The Thick of It
Does anyone watch this? I've only just started watching it, it's pretty much the best thing on television at the moment.
I watched the first six episodes from a DVD and although they were undeniably funny, it's a bit weird watching Chris Langham after the whole child porn thing. The Specials and new series don't have him in though and are still just as funny, Saturday's episode was amazing, really looking forward to the conclusion this weekend. I think my favourite bit in the whole thing is actually a deleted scene from the specials where some guy just gets annihilated on newsnight and then goes to a bar where the following exchange occurs:
Ben Swain (just after his screw up on Newsnight): Can I get you two fellas a drink?
Malcolm Tucker: I'll have an orange juice, yeah, please.
Jamie: Oh, I'll have a pint of f*ck right off and die, you miserable fu*king tosser. Do they do that in here?

Re: The Thick of It
Langham's character was only ever incidental to the programme anyway, so he's not a huge loss.
It's a brilliant programme.

Yeah, on the one hand I can't believe I've missed out on it this long but on the other hand it's given me a chance to watch a few hours of comedy gold. I reckon that Tucker will end up working for the opposition and they get in power and by doing that he finds some way to f*ck over Fleming and Julius.Shoeshine wrote:Langham's character was only ever incidental to the programme anyway, so he's not a huge loss.

Get hold of In The Loop, vilks - it's basically The Thick of It: The Movie, but with a few different characters (yet, oddly, featuring the awesome Tucker and bimbling Olly, although he's not called Olly, but he patently is Olly).
Tony Soprano going up against Malcolm Tucker - that's all kinds of win.

Yeah, the writers 'disapperaed' the character - he got sick as I recall.

TBH I do feel kind of sorry for him. Lets be realistic, yes, what he did was fu*ked up, but he never actually f*cked a kid or owt like that, and it is kind of ridiculous that because of this he will never get to work again, yet murderers like Leslie Grantham still worked with no huge stigma after killing a man. Again, not defending his actions but it is kind of ridiculous how downloading child porn is deemed worse than murder.Rob I wrote:vilkrang wrote:

One of my favourite lines this series was probably: "I feel I'm at a therapy group being run by my own rapist"
