Re: ICC World Twenty 20 - West Indies - 2010
Yep. Got to say ICC is killing the hen that lays golden eggs. Or has it already killed it?
It'd have been far better had ICC T20 WCs too have been organized after a gap of 4 years just like ODI WCs. There was a suggestion in mid '90s that ODI WCs should be organized after a gap of every 2 years considering their super success and popularity of ODIs in general at that time.
Thankfully, power that be, didn't heed to that. And now as we see we've an ODI WC which is eagerly awaited in most parts of cricketing world.

What about winning without him? Or do we need to play him so that the Indian fan tac quoted the other day can be happy?JGK wrote:G.Wood wrote:The kiddie has become the Mike Brearley of T20
I'd rather win with the Kiddie than lose without him.

2 were by Aus, 1 by Pak and 1 is in progress. Though considering their form, its no.3 coming to them in last 4 ICC tournaments for Aus.Zat wrote:Who won the other 4?SG wrote:So that’s just 1 success in last 1/5 ICC tournaments for India. Shows very poorly on Dhoni, the captain.
Hats off to them.

There is still a slim mathematical chance for us to qualify for the SF IF we beat SL by more than 20 runs, assuming Aus will maintain their supremacy over all comers.
Would be an absolute travesty if we go through to the SF. We just don't deserve to be there.

Who do we need to throw out game against to ensure that doesn't happen?

However I just hope we get trounced by SL instead so that this overhyped bunch of show ponies gets exposed once again.

Does anyone remember Jadeja hit for 6 consecutive 6s by 2 Ws? OK, not in the same over, 3 in one over, and 3 in the next.

Just watched the best bits from ShyT's knock. That was some innings.
And if he hasn't got the best pair of hands since qmy's mate, then I dunno who has.
ShyT for T20 skipper. Then get some dasher in there in Pup's spot.

I still wouldn't put it past England to find a way to not qualify.

That was a weird run chase by SA. They always had wickets in hand but only Botha at the end seemed to realise that they needed to score runs as well.

Looks like about 155 to chase for England.
NZ probably have enough, we always struggle against their wobbly seamers and have Ravi Bopara handicapping us this time...

150, all in.
Bit of a middling score, I reckon. A good start and we'll piss it. Early wickets and that'll be that.
I think I've Nick Knighted all positions there...
