Re: ICC World Twenty 20 - West Indies - 2010
Going to be a dirge on these Windian pitches, quite low and slow.
No wonder England have picked Michael 'The Dart' Yardy as a bowler.

Opening game lived up to its promise despite a slow wicket as Kiwis nick it from the Lankies with a 6 off Malinga by Brendon's brother although the Lankies have only themselves to blame with some costly fielding errors.

Dilshan ultimately cost them the game by wasting so many balls early on, unrecognisable from the star of the competition in England last year.

The Kiwis did well to keep the Lankies below 140 but the missed runout chances particularly the one that Malinga missed that went for a bye proved crucial.

Sri Lanka's opening bowler: AD Mathews 2 1 7 1 3.50
Who then didn't bowl another over. Odd, to say the least.

damn gayle out injured, have him as captain.
The big news is that Dwayne Bravo tossed the coin because Chris Gayle is out injured. Bravo says Gayle woke up with some stiffness and didn't want to take any chances. He should be right for the next game. Jerome Taylor and Sulieman Benn are also missing due to injury.
lazy fcuk.

You know the worlds gone to crap when Chris is missing out on T20 because it might be a bit much effort to play not being 100%

Lowest score v. Ireland by a Full Member nation in T20s - 137-8 by the Bangas at Trent Bridge, June 2009 (the Paddies won by 6 wickets).

Any of the minnows can beat a side in T20, certainly a leveller

Re: ICC World Twenty 20 - West Indies - 2010
Was a tidy strike. Nice to see a relatively low scoring game go down to the wire. Snoozers looked gone needing 50 off the last 5 having scratched 85 in 15.Allan D wrote:Opening game lived up to its promise despite a slow wicket as Kiwis nick it from the Lankies with a 6 off Malinga by Brendon's brother although the Lankies have only themselves to blame with some costly fielding errors.

So, 135 looks defendable then in this tournament.

Ireland avoid record for lowest score in T20s thanks to Windies' sloppy wide bowling. Still lowest score v. Full Member side.

Poor old Ireland did their best to "beat" all the records.

T20, the game where taking 1/17 in 3 overs and scoring 16* can get you a MOTM.

This will be a massive woof but the Bangers making a reasonable fist of chasing down the Paksters' 172.
Need 65 off 37 at 2-107.

Go Afghanistan. Them playing in this tournament really is something to celebrate. Gave a pretty reasonable display against India, I thought. They field well. Probably better than Pakistan and the Windies. And they have a good understanding when running between the wickets. Let's hope the ICC can support them and that they don't sink without a trace after this tournament.
