heck yes!
Rubbish. He pretty much single handedly won a Davis Cup final away on clay.
Yes. It was very impressive.
He also won the deciding rubber in the 2003 final (admittedly that was on grass, but he still produced the goods when it counted).
Not bad for a guy who who was consistently hounded over his lack of commitment to the Davis Cup. The Poo wasn't one of the boys like Rafter or Hewitt, but he did "raise the bar" for Australia when he needed to.

Re: French Open Tennis
The jock is out. Excellent.
Not sure I want Federer in the final, I mean I want him to win the thing but if he comes up against Nadal then it will be a boring straight sets victory for Nadal, whereas someone like Soderling has beaten Nadal before (though probably doesn't have the form this year to do the same).
Essentially if Nadal gets to the final then I want anyone but Federer to get there but if Nadal doesn't then I hope Federer does get there. Can't be bothered with another straight sets thrashing from Nadal, Federer is his bitch, especially on clay.

Most Australians hate him because he carried on like a brat in his teenage years.
He's matured these days and fights like Allan Border on a fifth-day wicket so I've learned to forgive him his youthful excesses.

too bad he isn't half as talented as Nad/Fed but yes he is a fighter...
I use to hate him for his antics in the 2001 US open match vs Blake plus his game was not too attractive. These days i just don't watch tennis.

The fact that we still wears his cap backwards tells you all you need to know about Hewitt.

Speaking of wearing your cap backwards, do we have any cricketing equivalents of this thing? At least, I can't remember any atm.

Re: French Open Tennis
A long-standing doubles partner of mine used to wear his cap backwards and it had nothing to do with making a fashion statement.
He disliked headbands and preferred not to have the peak of his cap in his way. He still used to sweat like crazy and wore the backwards cap to stop the sweat dripping down his face.
I have no idea if Hewitt wears his cap backwards for the same reason - it just means wearing your cap backwards isn't necessarily a sign of doucheness.
