Re: French Open Tennis
Fed goes out in the quarters .
First time he hasn't made the semi final of any Slam since the French Open in 2004. Astonishing record and had to end sometime but you get the feeling that his demise as a top player might be starting. Still think he has a couple more GS wins in him yet though.

I assume she is at 50 to 1 to get engaged to Lara Bingle then
That would be far more likely

I know he made the Open final last year, but let's hope Soderling is not a flash in the pan.
There have been too many. The likes of Muster and Nalbandian were extraordinarily good for about two years and then went to shite.
We need a new breed of players to come through and provide some rivalries for many years to come.

Re: French Open Tennis
You're being harsh there, PK. Imo the Federer-Nadal rivalry is a great one, and it's got a couple more years to go yet.
Djokovic and Murray are both pretenders, imo. They're missing that extra something that makes a great player. I thought both Tsonga and Baghdatis could become greats, but they've fallen away somewhat in recent times.
We're due to have an exceptional young player burst onto the scene. Let's hope he's English......

Re: French Open Tennis
Not unusual for Serena to lose the first set. I reckon she would have the best record of winning after losing the first set in history.
Still a long way to go for Sam.

Was watching Fed, didn't look anywhere close to how good he normally is even in the last match.

As expected, Stosur gets within 2 points of the biggest win by an Australian girl in about 30 years and she chokes.

Farkin grouse!!!!
Farkin hate tennis (espesh on clay), but when an Aussie does grand (in a Grand), count me on the bandwagon!!
That is some effort to knock over the behemoth of Women's tennis.
Who's she likely to get in the semi?

Re: French Open Tennis
The full story on Sam's win
"Samantha Stosur is close to ending a 30-year drought for Australia's women in grand slam tennis following her wins over Justine Henin and Serena Williams at the French Open.
The 26-year-old reached the semi-finals in Paris for the second straight year with a thrilling 6-2 6-7 (2/7) 8-6 win over No.1 seed Williams.
Next up is Serbia's No.4 seed Jelena Jankovic, who she beat in straight sets the last time they played, with the winner of the tie between Elena Dementieva and Francesco Schiavone in prospect for Sunday morning's (EST) final.
A win then would make Stosur Australia's first woman to win a grand slam title since Evonne Goolagong won Wimbledon in 1980."
-----------------------------------------------------
So Jankovic in the semis. The last line is a farkin disgraceful woof by the journo.

Rafa must be 1-20 to win (as if he wasn't already massive odds-on after the Fed got gunned) now that Meltzer has knocked out the Joker.

Djokovic loses in QF despite winning first 2 sets. Would've faced Nadal in the semis.

Hehehe, thanks for the scoop, SG. I think I sorta said that in the post above yours a tad earlier today (Joker = Djokovic ).
But never hurts to be sure about these things.
