First time he hasn't made the semi final of any Slam since the French Open in 2004. Astonishing record and had to end sometime but you get the feeling that his demise as a top player might be starting. Still think he has a couple more GS wins in him yet though.

There have been too many. The likes of Muster and Nalbandian were extraordinarily good for about two years and then went to shite.

You're being harsh there, PK. Imo the Federer-Nadal rivalry is a great one, and it's got a couple more years to go yet.

Djokovic and Murray are both pretenders, imo. They're missing that extra something that makes a great player. I thought both Tsonga and Baghdatis could become greats, but they've fallen away somewhat in recent times.

We're due to have an exceptional young player burst onto the scene. Let's hope he's English......

Well FMD - Stosur takes the first set off Serena 6-2.

Not unusual for Serena to lose the first set. I reckon she would have the best record of winning after losing the first set in history.

Still a long way to go for Sam.

Was watching Fed, didn't look anywhere close to how good he normally is even in the last match.

Stosur about to serve for the match so Serena is guaranteed to win.

Well I take back what I said. Amazing the level Sam has raised her game in the past two years.

As expected, Stosur gets within 2 points of the biggest win by an Australian girl in about 30 years and she chokes.

Stosur wins 8-6 in the third after saving a match point.
