Yes, but they made life difficult for themselves by their sloppy fielding. Strauss also had 3 lives - one was a simple chance put down by short fine leg when he was 23, the other was when Doctrove gave him not out to a caught behind when he nicked the ball onto his thigh pad and it rebounded to Akmal. Even I heard the nick and said: "That's out!" so it must have echoed round the ground. However Doctrove (who was of course Hair's partner in the notorious forfeited Test at The Oval 4 years ago) obviously forgot to bring his hearing aid.

Now I'm not the world authority on bowling but I've always thought that bowling a consistent length half way down the pitch is not what you should aim to be doing unless you're a big Windian in the 1980's.
Stuart Broad - 10 overs 4-80. Odd.

Been busy, but caught the highlights - looks like we were a bit sloppy in the field, bowled some pies and Straussy got a lucky break with a poor decision (which looks like its turned Pakpassion into a sookathon)

It would appear that some of Sky's pundits chose their WC squad during the interval and some of them didn't pick Strauss.

Another nice win for England.
I must admit 4 years ago I had my doubts, but look at them now!

I imagine by April 2011, Vilks' picture collection might be much larger or much smaller than it is now.
Roll on India v Aus I say. Test cricket.

With Pakistan desperate for win it was very unfortunate to see that disallowed catch(probably the catch of the tour).

Dozy feckers
The "pundits" (!) were Gough, Stewart and Pringle with Athers as non-voting chairman. Goughie bullied the two Southerners into dropping Strauss and making Collingwood captain. I think they were trying to squeeze KP, Bell and Bopara into the same side. Athers pointedly asked Strauss at the post-match interview what he had to say to those who wished to remove him as captain and player from the ODI side. His equally pointed reply:
Nothing!
I think Goughie & Co.had to buy their own drinks after the match.
