I'm sure if Pakistan can rack up 250-ish they've got every chance of winning the match...just like the last two games....
Actually in the last game I went to see at the Oval, Worcs racked up well in excess of 300 off 40 overs so it could be very high scoring indeed.

Ah, the Ovular - a place which boasts multiple name changes ... Brit, Fosters, Dickhead ... to name but three.
High scoring track, nothing in it for the bowlers, a lack of atmosphere at the ground, boring spectators.... can't expect much more from a ground that host a team who've finished even LOWER than Middlesex in the 2nd Division of the CC.
Pah ........ this is sh!t "cricket" ........... Roll on the Ashes ....

No argument from me, Merls. Merely trying to generate some discussion surrounding the Great Game, even if in a meaningless thread.
Fark it's quiet.

Actually if you look at the table you'll see Surrey comfortably ensconsed above Middlesex.
Peasant.

Why the 5-day gap anyway? I suppose giving the domestic game a bit of the spotlight is fair enough, particularly with the closest Championship battle ever (even if there was a lack of actual cricket due to the weather) but a 5 match JAMODI series should be done in 10 days, not spread out over two and a half weeks. Also bizarre that we get the domestic one-day final in the middle of an international series, there was a time when the international calendar was finished well before the old NatWest final in early September. It just seems a confusing muddle of scheduling to finish the English season.

Aye, you're right ... that 10 run "gimme" win lifted you 4 points above the Muddlers.
Pah - still sh!t cricket at the slurrey Ovular - anyway - I'm county-less next season after tossing in my Middlesex badge.
Just can't go on supporting the sh!t that Frasers churning out at Lord's right now ... chucking away money like it's his own and still finishing bottom of the heap (bar Direbeshire).
A pity really (after 3 decades) because the entire squad are a great bunch of lads ... it's just that IMO, Fraser's all wrong for the club and there's a lot of discontent brewing under the surface. Ditching Shah kinda sums it up really ... whilst ditching Fraser would be a more astute move.
Oh well, it's the Minor County circuit with Bucks and Berks for me next season.

Remember that 3 prime weeks were wasted with bloody T20 crap - so proper cricket season starts & finishes when weather plays a big part .... if not actually rained off, or bad light - bowlers paradise isn't it ?
Whilst T20 is here to stay, they really are tearing the arse out of it to the point where people are either losing interest or priced out ... how many can afford to go to 2 games a week with one or two children ?

Lowest score in an ODI at The Oval - 103 by England against the Saffies in the 1999 WC. Lowest score v. England - 154-8 by Pakistan in May 1978.
