http://www.cricinfo.com/england-v-pakistan-2010/content/current/story/477641.html

"A source informed The Sun newspaper that a certain scoring pattern would emerge during certain stages of the match and, broadly speaking, that information appeared to be correct," Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive, said.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if this is true, i cant say i would now argue too much against people who want pakistan banned from cricket

Suspend Pakistan now, and all Pakistani players from playing overseas until they clean their act up.

I can't imagine the Pakistani players would be that stupid (assuming it's them that are under suspicion). Having said that, it could just be that Pakistani cricket is completely rotten to the core and they think they can get away with anything because they have been for years.

Quite likely - and just as likely is that they might be under duress to fix matches. But that's no excuse.

I'd shove the lot of them on the first plane out of the UK, and bugger the remaining ODIs.

I guess once they do something for a bookmaker, they have to keep doing it otherwise the bookmaker a) exposes them to the authorities, or b) organises their untimely end.

Phurt. Who was the last cricketer murdered at the behest of a shonky bookie?

And before anyone answers, neither Woolmer nor Hansie were cricketers when they met their untimely ends.

Well that's the point, isn't it. The players caught up in it are sh!t scared of what the consequences could be if they call it all off and blow the whistle, that they keep themselves in the bookies grasp.

I was really impressed by the Pakistani bowling last night.

And this, THIS, is what it boils down to.

Farking farkers.

It's a three paragraph story in the Sun with no supporting evidence- I don't think there's much cause to get hysterical about it at the mo.

Well that's true also. And it's not really hard to predict the scoring patterns of an ODI anyway. Most of the innings are pretty structured and predictable affairs.

Farking ridic, we get some decent matches in the ODI series and now this...

If anyone has been naughty, then to do it at this time with all the investigations going on, they're farking brain dead.

They haven't said which side is under suspicion either - if any England player was involved i'd ban em in the blink of an eye.
