Did this make it to Rikkidom? Methinks Frommie is slipping.

Frommie clearly didn't rate it. I resurrected it from the bottom of the page, and at no stage did it appear to get rikkied.
Suck on that, T20, you imposter.

Given the number of FBers who've farqed off, Dello, or rather Frommie should reinstate the elders idea. Then he'd have to do nothing.

Afridi made 25 off 7 balls. So, off the remaining 19 overs, Pak made 94 runs. wow!!

In the old days a win against Pak meant something.
Nowadays we might as well play against Zim

Rubbish batting as always, the top order of Shahzaib, Hafeez and Farhat is terrible
Name the team that knocked SA out of the last T20 world cups...taipan wrote:In the old days a win against Pak meant something.

That's the old days, PP. Back in the days when those wacky Paksters weren't caught out so easily match-fixing.

Re: Pakistan vs South Africa: First T20
Lordy, I saw the score from the 2nd T20 Saf v Pak and thought is was still the first game result.
Virtually identical game. Paksters squeak 120 and Saffies run them down easy for the loss of 6 wickets.
Was there spot betting available on identical results in the 2 games?

Re: Pakistan vs South Africa: First T20
Was watching highlights from the Sydney Pakster Test and it struck me how skillful the wacky ones were if they were actually trying to lose the game. Sure there was some dreadful catching from Akmal (I still say it's hard to deliberately drop a catch as keeper and make it look inept rather than obvious).
There were some rash shots played but perhaps the most obvious "cheating" was the apparently inept captaincy on the final morning to allow Aus to set any sort of target. Still, the bowlers had to "bowl" poorly enough to not take wickets. And Siddle kept plenty of straight one out.
So does that make the Paksters genuises? They are so "good" that they can deliberately play badly without making it look obvious?

Re: Pakistan vs South Africa: First T20
There were a few dismissals in the Pak second innings of that match that were down to the Aussie's skill rather than throwing the game. Haddin's leg side catch to dismiss Butt comes to mind.
Having said that, Akmal's keeping and Yousuf's captaincy on the 4th morning were dreadful.

Yeah, I think things like Haddin's catch (was an excellent glance by Butt - I would find it hard to believe that he intentionally glanced it so fine AND Haddin pulled off a screamer) and some other skilful things Aus did (Midge had a good spell at one point ) sort of took any suspicion away at the time.

Aye, for people to win money on Pakistan fixing to lose, someone else would have to believe they were going to win. Laughable.

Maybe WC games arethe only ones they don't fix.
Just watched them lose something like 9/64.
