CA might be in the poo over Ashes stunt
Council might fine CA over Big Ben Ashes ad
"Cricket Australia was facing potential legal action and a £2,500 ($4,000) fine after the sport's governing body in Australia illegally beamed a holographic image of Aussie captain Ricky Ponting and vice-captain Michael Clarke onto London's Big Ben.
The stunt, which Cricket Australia carried out in London on Wednesday night, caused anger in the U.K., with Westminster City Council threatening to prosecute the cricket body.
The image beamed onto Big Ben carried the message "Don't forget to pack the urn," a reference to the Aussies' desire to reclaim the Ashes trophy from England in the five-Test series."

A mistake or a good investment?

Hint of desperation there, could have understood it 4 years ago but now it just looks a bit pathetic.
Quite funny though.

Aye on both counts, vilks. CA looking just a little ragged at the moment after a dream near 20 year run.
We are must definitely in the post-Warne era now.

CA should spend a bit more time listening to the fans in Australia, and a bit less faffing about in London.

I'm guessing they already know what fans think Zat ..... they certainnly won't want to actually hear it spelled out in words of one syllable ....

I've got no doubt that England will have packed the replica urn.

'f*cking' is 2 syllables. As is 'arseholes'...Growler wrote:I'm guessing they already know what fans think Zat ..... they certainnly won't want to actually hear it spelled out in words of one syllable ....

That PR job with the Pom captain and the urn off to Oz. That urn certainly looked shiny and new.

I can't remember- Is the (replica) urn presented to the winning team immediately after they've secured the ashes? Or is it when the final test has concluded?

Yikes, I knew you Aussies were passionate about your team - and thats not a dig BTW .......
... but I didn't realise that feelings towards the NSP ran quite so deep.

It's not the feelings to the NSP per se it's the depth of feelings towards the current incumbents on the NSP, who have presided over the fall in Aus cricket from first to fifth and fiddled a la Nero presiding over a Roman flambe.
I was prepared for Australia to dip fro the top of the heap post TGM, tgm, MTB, BNG, Johnnie Walker, et al but the plummet to mid-table mediocrity is unacceptable, and the manner in which Hilditch and his cronies have refused to acknowledge problems with performance, or that they themselves may have erred, that really gives me the sh!ts.
