No full Aus/SAf or SAf/Aus tours until at least 2021
So says cricinfo
South Africa stood firm on wanting Australia to play the Boxing Day and New Year Tests there.
Even though - as I've said plenty of times before - Tests in Jaapan generally draw crowds that would fit in a phone box, while the MCG and SCG Tests draw totals well in to six figures across each match. And CSA gets a better deal off CA than any other nation.
Hopefully CSA can turn their BD and NY Tests into something similar.

And what about the vast majority of Tests in SAf? 2 men, a dog, and that's about it.
But that's fine, say I twist the facts if you like.

5 as you know MB and a helluva lot more than the WACA or the Gabba.
The sad part is that we would all like to see five test series

2021?? Won't Global Warming have farked us all by then?? Or greedy American money-laundering firms?? Or the North Koreans blowing everyone, including themselves up?? Morgan Freeman told me tonight on Discovery that Dark Energy is gonna tear the Universe apart (including down to the atomic level) one day.
Go to the cricket and get p!ssed, I say. Enjoy it while we can.

Re: No full Aus/SAf or SAf/Aus tours until at least 2021
If South Africa refusing to play in Australia's boxing day test means the possibility that the Adelaide Oval test will be played over the Australia Day weekend again, with the final test of the Summer at Perth in early February, then i'm all for it.
The test schedule finishes much too early in the summer in Aus. With the decline in popularity in ODIs, I would have thought moving the test matches to the 'main part' of the summer (Late December until early February, which also happens to be the school holiday period) would be a no brainer.

SA doesn't pull a crowd compared with the poms and India anyway and doesn't do much for Aussie coffers so let them have their Boxing Day tests in front of two and a dog.

I thought South Africa's original argument was that they wanted Australia to come to THEM every eight years for the Boxing Day and New Years tests because the Aussies are probably the only team that sells out test matches in South Africa?
Let's be honest- From a business point of view you can see why Cricket Australia said no. They would lose a whole heap of money if they gave up their Boxing Day and New Years tests, which usually draw a combined total of 250,000 people over the ten days.
Seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot a bit now, as from what I understand, cricket Australia compensated them pretty well for coming out here over the festive season.
As it is, South Africa are probably the third biggest draw card in Australia after England and India, which is about where they should be, all things considered.
Rest assured, if Christmas was a major holiday in India, with a big deal made over their Boxing Day and New Years tests, Australia would be over there whenever India told them to come over.
