Hughes did score a run a ball 80* in his last test innings.

Either way, the outlook isn't good for Hughes. I reckon GSC has had a big say on him.

So we pick 17 players and only 9 played in our last test.

Australia decide to pick the biggest Test series of all time to blood in some youngsters.

Aus should have picked some young players after the last ashes. Hussey scoring a century in the Oval test was probably the worst thing that could have happened for Australia.

The worst thing - besides losing the Ashes in spite of that.

PMSL at the squad...stevie nix has barely scored a run or taken a wicket...less than inspiring selections...almost half the squad are Spivs who were humiliated in the game against the no name Vix

Yes it's a very NSW-centric affair ... the squad have all been offered a free ride in the Sydney Monorail.

We don't play for another 10 days. There was no need we have to GAF about to name a squad at all.

Personally I'd have been happier if they'd read out 36 names, after a half-hour Rob Oakshot-style monotone about how hard the process was - just to piss 9 off.

Better still if they'd got Craig Willis to do it.

Good point. They could simply have named everyone that's played a FC game this year, alternating between Oakshott and Gillard's intonation. That'd learn 'em.
