Ashes Highlights on ITV4
.....according to the Torygraph, but late in the evening so might clash with the start of the next day's play.

Better than nothing I guess... I think they're usually on an hour before play starts the next day.

Re: Ashes Highlights on ITV4
I'll probably end up watching them. Not much else on at that time in the evening apart from news and it's right before i go to bed so the timing is good for me.
Apparently ITV decided to put a bid in for the highlights due to the good numbers for some of their IPL matches. Something like 500,000 for ITV4 which is supposed to be a success.

Presented by Alan Titchmarsh. With in-depth analysis from Robbie Earle and a stick of celery.

Re: Ashes Highlights on ITV4
So roughly what percentage of the country would pay for Sky, JKL? Or what percentage of cricket followers?
Lordy, I would've thought with this being England's greatest chance in many moons to retain on Aus soil people would be queueing for subscriptions.

Wouldn't know Skully, perhaps 1 in 5 people now have Sky? I'm plucking that our of thin air to be honest but i'd have thought around that.

Unfortunately, cricket's popularity in England still trails a long way behind football. And I can't imagine a whole heap of people signing up to get the ashes live when each day's play doesn't start until midnight UK time.

From some TV industry website that I can't verify the accuracy of...
According to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics, the United Kingdom is home to almost 61 million people in mid-2007. This number translates roughly to around 25.9 million TV households...
For its latest earnings report, BSkyB reported a grand total of 9.32 million subscribers, with some subscribers signing up for as many as three services. The broadcaster, however, lists 7.85 million homes subscribed to its various TV packages, or a little less than one-third of the whole TV market in the country

Re: Ashes Highlights on ITV4
I think I read somewhere that Sky Sports reaches 6000000 people weekly but I'm guessing the majority of that is for football (and WOmen's Beach volleyball)
The highlights viewing figures on Sky will probably be higher than the live figures.

Re: Ashes Highlights on ITV4
So do people unsubscribe during the English summer months? Surely many of the football fans would watch the cricket of Sky?
