I don't rate the raghead, but he IS the leading run scorer in the Shield. Agree that he looked out of his depth playing with the YTs in the A game.

In Perth the spin of Hussey or North should be adequate. Voges could introduce a new element ... get the English players worried about his chucking rather than their winning.

If Paine were fit I'd even consider having him as keeper and let Haddin bat at 6.

Katich's loss is a huge blow.

Possibly more important than team selection is the pitches that are served up.

I'm the arch doom monger and even I don't see Australia winning twice in 3 games on Brisbane/Adelaide decks.

Does Cricket Australia do that sort of thing? They're perfectly entitled to. Here, money trumps all and the ECB just want 5 days revenue.
