This thread title was a bit of a clanger, eh?
Bell has to bat higher. At 6 he either runs out of partners or he's irrelevant.

I'd be surprised if Colly isn't jettisoned for Morgan, eh?

I here Bell got a shocker of a decision. It's a shame that the technology in this case couldn't ensure that such a bad decision was reversed.

Not sure Morgan's the player we need coming in at 40/4, although Colly's not pulling his weight in that role anyway at the moment. We could shut up shop and play 7 batsmen and a keeper and look for two draws but I don't think the pitches will allow that tactic to be a success, and as I've said before adding an extra batsman usually does little to stop a collapse when it happens.skully wrote:I'd be surprised if Colly isn't jettisoned for Morgan, eh?
I don't really know what changes would be beneficial at this stage. The bowling's not looking too bad, while apart from Morgan there's no other batting options other than the reserve keeper and I can't see a change in the balance of the team.

Re: Fantastic Match Winning Innings from Bell
Personally I'd advocate never playing for a draw, except when you can no longer win a match, much as I hate to agree with Boycott and co. Who wants to see draws? I'd rather we lost after fighting for victories.
As for Colly, I'd keep him for now but maybe change the order. I still say his fielding saves a lot of runs and regularly gives us wickets we wouldn't have otherwise got. Not a reason to pick him maybe, but a reason to keep him a bit longer.

Agreed, but sometimes a hard fought draw can be exciting.

That's enough of the anti-Wazzieshire bias. Bell is a champion, it was the rest of the England team that let him down.

Oz had better not start this Belf business, with Ryan Harris in their side:
