Aye. Might was well bat to 700.

Personally, I'd be for the middle course - which seems to be about what they are doing. Don't throw the bat in a reckless fashion just to get out, don't bat stolidly on like Boycott .... but keep the scoreboard turning. Another hour might be enough.

And yet we got away with the draw, hence moral victory to us.JGK wrote:vilkrang wrote:Actually that was our moral victory, so we won the series 3-1.JGK wrote:Australia, of course due to the moral Victory at Cardiff in 2009.
Turn it up. We flippin' murdered you in that game.

I'd like to see England develop a ruthless streak. 3-1 would be an accurate reflection of the difference between the two teams. We'll be playing better teams in the next 12 months than this Australian team.
And isn't England's new goal in tests to be the World's best team? Starts right here, I would have thought.

There is still plenty of time to bowl them out, you'd have a point if this was the final day.Henry wrote:I'd like to see England develop a ruthless streak. 3-1 would be an accurate reflection of the difference between the two teams. I don't see why he would. What's the point in batting again if we don't need to?Henry wrote:I reckon Strauss will call them in 20 minutes after lunch.

We'll be 370 ahead by then so we probably wont have to bat again.

Aye. Biffer Bresnan.
Come on now, Prior - get your ton so I can hit the sack.

Brezzy lad. Just found a link and good to see a Yorkshireman opening his shoulders. Declare after Prior, Bresnan and Swann have got their hundreds I say. No point over-indulging and letting Tremlett bat as he'll have some bowling to do.
Re: Australia v England, 5th Test, Sydney, January 3-7, 2011
I now have a problem: I need to get up at 5.30 to paint the kitchen ceiling (it's a long story) So, stay up and paint with bleary eyes or go to bed and get some shut eye and miss an Aussie bowling attack being disembowled.

Tough decision. Could you paint the kitchen ceiling lying down and get a few winks whilst doing it?Basil wrote:I now have a problem: I need to get up at 5.30 to paint the kitchen ceiling (it's a long story) So, stay up and paint with bleary eyes or go to bed and get some shut eye and miss an Aussie bowling attack being disembowled.

Why the hell is Clarke still bowling his spinners when he can take the new ball? Pontingesque.
