What was the bet? That the test would go into tomorrow?

It was just announced on the radio that the ICC anti corruption unit are investigating irregaular betting patterns on this game.
Apparently some people had bet on Australia to win.

Yeah, I heard that joke yesterday. Maybe day two, even.
Still... heh

There is something a bit "look at me" about Smith's batting - with his exagerated follow through.

They were good balls. I know Aussie aren't stellar players any more but at least show some respect to the fact we're actually bowling very well to you.

He's got to try and make an impression somehow in the short time he's out there.

If this 3-1 series loss is not the kick up the arse Cricket Aus needs to overhaul the NSP, coaching set up etc then nothing ever will.

Nah! Before the series began I had it on a drawn series at $5.50. I've made it up, and then some, via ball by ball throughout the series though. But that's child's play. Placing a bet five weeks out from the result and winning is more satisfying.

Did Bell just drop the Ashes again? I wasn't paying attention...

I don't think this is going to happen tonight - and the battery on my lappy is running out - so I'll just say well played to England. That pitch is flat, there's no real spin, it's just yielded 644, yet the bowlers have found some reverse swing for the first time in the match and really shown up their Aussie counterparts.
A great effort - and on to tomorrow for the coup de grace. Rain permitting.

$20 for a ticket tomorrow. That's it. I'm going. Will be worth it even if I only see three balls.

Is the Aussie series defeat worse than the 5 zip drubbing of England four years back?
5 losses in a row
or 3 innings losses in 5 games
What is worse?

A look at the Aussie scorecard shows how well we've strangled them. The top seven all made it into double figures, but not one has been able to kick on.
