Cricinfo saying Colly's told the team this is his last test. I salute a humble and valuable servant of english cricket, and hats off him to him for going at the right time. Must be amazing to have been a part of the team that so comprehensively pulverised the old enemy this series, but he never really looked like contributing (except in the bowling stakes...).
A fond adieu!

Fair play, has been a great servant and without him we wouldn't have won the Ashes in 2009.

And the catching stakes. How many runs has he saved us? That Ponting catch maybe even changed the course of the series. Give him another MBE I say. There's at least a couple of Aussies who won't be sledging him about it this time.Winkle Spinner wrote:Cricinfo saying Colly's told the team this is his last test. I hope Colly takes the final catch. That would mean he has taken a catch with his last moment of Test cricket, taken a wicket with his last ever ball in Test cricket and as a batsman with his last ball gifted an Aussie pie chucker his only ever wicket in Test cricket with a ridiculous slog.

As long as it's not a regulation catch. Something like a shot that seems to be going for six but Colly jumps 60 foot in the air to pluck it out of the sky would do nicely.Gary 111 wrote:I hope Colly takes the final catch. Farewell Colly. Matt Prior came with him for his lap of honour, and draped Colly in the flag of St George. Huge cheers from the Barmy Army. A great moment.
