So you're arguing that nobody should say anything in public.

Idiot chick.

Would they? I'm not sure if they would. "There has been a [i]rise[/t] in racial attacks" wherever the BNP have campaigned and won. Not a sustained level but a rise.

No. Like I said, these aren't my views. I'm playing devil's advocate. Trying to get a debate going.

It's perfectly possible that Griffin speaking and inciting racial hatred will cause a racially motivated attack. It does not have to result in death, it may just result in destroying a person's life. In fact, I read an article yesterday that said:

Ms Guthrie - National Campaigner for the group Unite Against Fascism - said there had also been a rise in racial attacks whenever Nick Griffin's BNP party gained seats on local councils.

So there is a link between the BNP and racially motivated violence. It's not purely speculative. Whereas someone campaigning against the BNP attacking and killing Griffin is highly unlikely.

BNP seats, in wards, are increasing. Allowing its leader to speak exposes what he's really about and may reduce the number of people joining this party.

LLL: I do understand your point, that hearing anti-black/gay/Jewish/trade union talk may incite some vile people to go out and cause harm, but these sorts would do so anyway.

You forgot anti-white/western/democracy . . .

That's what I mean, [i]campaigned
and won. Campaigning is not the same as having your views challenged in a debate. They are using issues, immigration, housing, employment, in their campaigning. Hopefully, if given platforms where they can be questioned, deeply, their hatred for non-whites, non-Christians, etc., can be exposed rather than the issues they are using to gain seats.

most countries do have laws that allow arrest or prosecution of a person who is found to have incited violence or may cause it. griffins should be allowed to go ahead with his talk, but if he does cross the line, i.e. say something to the effect of 'beat the crap out of *insert group of choice*' then he should be dealt with as per the law
