Re: A history of choking - Yarps in the CWC
While the rain rule stuffed South Africa in 1992 I do agree that it was poetic justice. They denied England their last five overs when the Poms were going gangbusters. England deserved to win that match.
And it wasn't the TV schedule that stopped them playing on (which would have been the sensible thing to do). There were some NIMBYs (Not In MY Back-Yard) who'd influenced the local council which stipulated the SCG lights had to be turned off at a certain time.
The dumbest mistake of all by the organisers was to not have reserve days. That failure ultimately allowed Pakistan to unfairly qualify for the semi-finals. But that's sport I guess.

In the second pic, KP looks like he's bawling his eyes out after making an acceptance speech.

Anyone got the text of the spoof memorabilia for the various Jaapanese chokes in previous Gillys? They we're along the lines of 'Un-be-f*cking-lievable' and 'Not a-f*cking-gain'

Can't beat the Duckworth-Lewis c*ck-up as a way to exit the tournament... at home as well. Changed the course of SA cricket, cost Pollock the captaincy and threw the virtually untried Graeme Smith into the hotseat at a very young age. Hard to believe he's been in the job for 8 years now.
