Bit dire.

How do Pat Symcox and Lance Klusener go as commentators? I haven't heard either of them. I'm guessing that the "dire" also applies to them and given they are both dumb as posts, it makes for scary prospects.

Symmo is banned from broadcasting in SA as he was nasty to CSA.

So the classy Robin Jackman will be carrying them then? And why does that not surprise me about Symmo?

At least Symmo might be entertaining.

I love Jackers. Like the alcoholic, smoking old Uncle that livens up the family party. But he's actually a good commentator.

Yup, Jackers is good to listen to. I look forward to Symmo's raving witticisms.

And Saffie wise, i've really liked Polly's work as a commentator so far. Pity he's not at the WC.

Pity we won't get to hear Gower's drollery either. Is Delbert Wilkins any good?

Wilkins is a smooth talking pro ala Nicholas (without the gayness). No real insight or great wit. Just polished drivel that becomes tedious and repetetive.

At least Bumble is there to balance out Sir Beefy's inaneness. Naz and Athers should be OK.

And I wonder what quntishness Crappelli will spew, and how many times will he make bitter remarks aimed at Steve Waugh?

He was a fairly run-of-the-mill left arm seamer first for Glamorgan and then for Glos. - this would be back in the 80s.

IIRC, he did some rugby commentary for ITV in a World Cup some years ago.

he used to cover the tennis majors for star before he got bumped up to cricket

I heard him commentating on a golf tournament in (I think) Thailand a few weeks back. Gets around.....
