Most parochial commentators from each Country
Driving back to my mother's last night, I was listening to a live broadcast of the 3rd Bannie v Oz JAMODI. It was very funny. Bogle was one commentator and some bloke with a deep clipped voice was the other.
The latter was on during the last 7 or 8 overs of the Oz dig. He was bloody hilarious, effectively cheering each dot ball and criticising Carey and Stoinis for failing to find the boundary. I debated staying up and watching Fox, but went to bed with the radio on. I woke up to lamentations as E Coli had just got out. India were still a chance.
As wickets continued to fall, the deep voiced commentator remarked on the crowd thinning out. Seems as though those leaving were simply worried about finding public transport to get home.
The guy who had been critical of the low target Oz set, seemed to have forgotten this when it was clear the locals would fall well short.
Bannie batsmen were out in unlucky ways or simply as a result of going for it.
All in all it was one of the funnier episodes of parochial commentary I've ever heard.
Unable to sleep, I started to think about who was the most parochial Oz commentator. It was a difficult choice. On telly, Healy appeared head and shoulders above all other commentators. But it sti
lll seems radio may be the natural medium for the purest expression of parochialism. Here Jim Maxwell is the epitome of the biased commentator. Old Jim is doubly parochial, favouring not just Oz but NSW players in the team.
So here's a fun challenge. Name the most parochial of your country's commentators.

Aye. Russel Arnold is out there. Old Fannie De V struck me as rather parochial, but then he often seemed drunk when on air. Is he still getting gigs?
Boycott must be up there as one of the more parochial Pom commentators.
