So is White still considered an allrounder?
Is he going to get a bowl?

49 run 8th wicket partnership.
This has all the makings of a classic Zimbabwe innings: like Olivia Newton John's legs, the same thickness from top to bottom.

Australian forummers reach a new low, woofing against the Zimboks. "Shameful" doesn't even begin to describe this behaviour.

Re: World Cup 2011
From the highlights (no, I didn't sit up to watch Aus defend 262) it looks like Midge bowled particularly well and Krazy did his bit as well. Have to say I'm just a little relieved. I turned the radio on with a bit of trepidation this morning.
That's 30 straight WC matches unbeaten for Aus.

I'd settle for him being considered a batsman.

Chigumbura top edged a sweep onto his body, the ball ballooned up off his shoulder and Haddin took an easy catch. Amidst the loud appeals, Chigumbura walked straight away (the pavilion was in the direction of mid off), but seeing that Chigumbura was walking out of his ground, Haddin felt the need to run Chigumbura out as well, just to make sure he was 'out'. Completely demolished the stumps with a big appeal whilst Chigumbura was having the good grace to walk before the Umpire raised his finger.
It just looked c*ntish, and desperate from Haddin.

Yeah, I saw that on the highlights but just thought Haddin was buying insurance. Oh well, opinions are what make this joint hum.

Re: World Cup 2011
That action seems perfectly reasonable IMO
He's not a qunt for that. There are many other things he is a qunt for (such as a strike rate of 40 in an ODI) but jeez that is a bit harsh from Trev.

Yeah, I thought it was more a reflex action when he saw Chumbawumba out of his ground.

But of course we'll pick Yardy instead of Bopara and Yardy will porobably pick up two or three wickets and be locked in for the rest of the tournament.

No argument from me, h. I just have an aversion to sitting in the corner talking to myself (awaits obvious reposte from A), so I'd rather join everyone bagging Aus in this thread.

Re: World Cup 2011
I thought Aus did the job they needed to do. Lee and Johnson looked in good order. The spin department is still a worry for them.
Batting wise I think Haddin is now confused as to his role, but Clarke has found form and Watson continues to play well. Cameron White looks out of touch and isn't pacing his innings very well.

Re: World Cup 2011
Probably a fair analysis, Trev. It was frustrating watching them crab for so long (did a good job to make 262 in the end) and I went to bed genuinely concerned that the Zimmers might give 263 a shake. I'm happy that Madge bowled well. His rhythm looked good in the highlights.

Re: World Cup 2011
but Clarke has found form
Its easy to look good against the minnows...except that Clarke still did'nt look all that competent. While his scorecard looked good, his batting looked like he could get out off every ball. The batting of White & Smith was particularly appalling. They batted with the style of a couple of awkward grade schoolers. Australia only did enough to win but it was far from a dominant performance.
Re: World Cup 2011
Aye BD. The batting didn't inspire me with any sort of confidence that we have any chance of defending our title. Not that we didn't know that already.
