Right, damage done with Ireland, back to England. Powerplay does the job again for the opposition Rolling Eyes .

Can't see Ban getting close to 220 or 230 here really, unless Tamim goes absolutely apeshit and manages to sustain it for more than a handful of overs. This is the side that was bowled out for 58 by WI remember... OK it would have been good to put it beyond doubt by getting 300+ but that's not realistic on this pitch.

Aye, I wouldn't mind what score we got as long as I thought we had the attack to defend it. As it is, we seem pretty limited.

Yeah, surprised at picking Colly as effectively a specialist bowler, we do seem a bit light in that department. There were rumours of three spinners yesterday but instead Yardy and Tredwell both missed out, and also we've lost our part-time spinner in KP so no other options for anything slower than medium pace.

Bangladesh could easily subside to a double figure score again if Tamim gets out early though, not sure they have the confidence or ability to chase anything vaguely competitive.

Yardy is gobshite, I don't think we can have a go at the selectors for dropping him in place as Colly seeing as we all thought that would be a good idea.

Not criticising them for dropping Yardy, I guess Colly is probably more worthy of being picked as a bowler than he is based on FC and List A record... but if they were considering playing three spinners, even if two of them are crap, there must be a real need to take pace off the ball.

I'd be surprised if Bangladesh get within 50 or so of this - looked for a while like we could be heading for a loser-goes-home showdown with WI next week but now seems the minnows' challenge may be over after today's games.

Colly should have nailed that full toss. Highest run chase on this ground is 222 so we should be alright...... pale

Hmmm, knew the pitch wasn't the most conducive to quick scoring, but 225ao isn't exactly pushing the limits.

Confirmation of what everyone who isn't a part of the England selection panel has said all along: the spinners they've picked for this tour - aside from Swann, obviously - are rotten selections.

Strauss patently doesn't rate Yardy - how could he? And as Tredwell has been around for about 12 games now, in the midst of injury crisis after injury crisis, and still remained on drinks duty, it's fair to assume no-one within the set-up rates him in the slightest.

So how [i]did[/] they get picked? Such negative, nothing selections. They could've thrown two kids in, Rashid and Briggs, and they wouldn't be any worse off than they are now. Even Fat Sam. Sure, he waddles, but Yardy's not exactly been mainlining Slim-Fast. How about Rory Hamilton-Brownpants? Bowls some respectable part-time one-day offies whilst being a bit of a tonker with the bat. Takes his List A wickets @ 34. How is that worse than Michael Yardy, who limps in @ 40s? Could Ian Blackwell not do a reasonable job? Monty even? Can't bat, but that hardly makes him any worse than Yardy, who barely can, or Tredwell, who doesn't play.

Absolutely zero imagination or ambition has gone into England's WC squad selection. They've been playing for a draw from the outset.

It was poor. Rabbits in the headlights stuff.

The only blokes who looked like they fancied it were the two imports, who obviously haven't learned the ways of the English yet: "When there's any kind of pressure on - any at all, even back-to-back dot balls constitutes some pressure - retreat to the foetal position and wait for it to all be over."

Morgan was playing a different game to everyone else. That said, the pitch was made for him - he can't bat when there's any kind of bounce in the surface (as in Australia), but get him on a slow lowie, and he starts lapping up the craic. Or something.

Aye agreed Dello, pretty weak display all-in-all and it's definitely a Morgan type of pitch. It all depends on which bowlers don't bowl filth. If they get after Swann successfully, I fear another embarrassment on our hands.

Yes, unfortunately David Haye's totally classless comment of "as one-sided as a gang-rape" does come to mind. Are they batting out of their skins? Nah, they're being given absolute gifts.

Does not look like England will make QF that easily. Bangars or Ireland could queer the pitch with one more upset.

Edge to first slip, who isn't there, when have I seen that happen before?

Oh yes, in every single game that Strauss has ever captained ever. We need wickets FFS.

The slip thing annoys me the most, have seen it so many f**king times. Losing to Ireland clearly hasn't made Strauss change his mindset at all (O'Brien edged to first slip, who wasn't there, when he was 0 in that game).
