Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
Nah vilks. I dial in to Twitter.com to get the latest streams for my US TV shows, but couldn't be arsed reading about the latest dump some celeb took, nor some twaddle about what latest flirt Warnie's got going on or how he just had his kids jump off his shoulders into their pool. Who gives a flying fark about such inane nonsense? Farquin attention whores, the lot of 'em.

Each to their own you miserable narrow minded goons
Following the situation in Libya via twitter in real time is an exceptional use of modern day technology. And you can get breaking news before the mass media, Vaughan basically gave the KP story away.
As LLL says, you'll only find the 'took a dump, wiped arse' inane comments if you look for them.

Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
I didn't order anyone to stop using it! If you're into getting the latest scoop from Johnny Brave-and-Broadminded in [insert your f*cked up middle-eastern/north/north-east African country here] or want to hear Captain Positive drone on about who he still keeps in contact with, that's more than fine. I just couldn't imagine wanting to read anyone with in a limited amount of characters and I'll certainly maintain that whoever is on it is into a great deal of self-aggrandisement.

Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
Again, if you bothered to read the thread you would find JKL and LLL say that they get links to other sites which intesrest them, not that they read full stories on twitter.Brass Monkey wrote: I didn't order anyone to stop using it! I did read the thread you giant sherbert - that's not my main point, I still think it's a mish-mash of f*cktards, prick-teasers, c*ck-thumbers and nose-pickers.
Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
In general you're right of course, it's as banal as facebook.

I agree, though if people find it useful to stay up to date with news then fair play.

Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
It's not so much keeping up with the news, I wouldn't scour it for the news but if theres a breaking story, an excellent tool.

I'm not table-thumping, fascist-style - it's just if I wanted to see someone shove their c*ck up their own arse, I'd watch Stretch Armstrong - but if you all want to, G4G.

Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
Twitter was brilliant during the ashes. I'm following all the top UK cricket Journos, and the breaking news came through them on twitter first long before it was published anywhere else.

I was actually picking my nose whilst reading that.
Got a little out, but not the trouble maker.

Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
Been dabbling with Twitter...there are some good iPhone apps...would have to agree it's useful for breaking news etc but it's also very much like a forum. Alot of the comments on #SLvAUS very similar to this place.
Surprised that someone who's only life is on-line (skully) would be so dismissive...it's actually almost the perfect platform for him.

Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
if you follow that link, you can look at Henry's twitter, and see his chat with Chris Tremlett. Amazing stuff.
I got an account to follow a couple of friends and their new businesses, but I have b%gger all to say for myself.

Aye, the Trev. The Mudge.
I'm very easy to find on there also, so I'm not just picking on Trev, but I admit mine it utter (otter?) dross.

Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
So he's really called Henry?
Why was he Trevor for so many years? Of all the names to moonlight as. Trevor!
With sympathies to anyone out there whose real name actually is Trevor - I have my suspicions there's at least one FBer carrying that millstone around his neck. Mentioning no names. Apart from Trevor, obviously...

Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
Well, you know, this is what happens isn't it? This is what happens when you lot are disturbingly reticent about revealing your first name. I remember starting a 'what's your name?' thread and it was like trying to elicit information from Russian spies under torture. It was like I was asking for naked picture of each of you to be put up on the thread for meticulous scrutiny. I find the whole entire thing a little precious and quite frankly a whole lot weird. Oooh what mystique **spooky fingers**
Re: Flaming Bails on Twitter
You just don't understand. Christ, if people ever found out that my name was Steve then I'd never be able to post again.
