Re: WI v Pak ODI series in Caribbean, April/May 2011
Maybe someone will start a Test thread or two for the real cricket.

Test series is about to start, we should just use this thread
Misbah has been brilliant, he could quite possibly win the test player of the year award

Another brother of Younis Khan passed away(that's 3 in 5 years PLUS the dad) so he will not take part in the test series.

Aye, would be good if they hit them with a 4-prong... Pak play spin well enough.
Re: WI v Pak ODI series in Caribbean, April/May 2011
On the last tour Fidel won them a test match with 6/38 IIRC
He is brilliant! Roach, Ravi, Fidel and Bishoo is NOT a bad attack at all.

Yeah. Yeah, I forgot about Bishoo - they should get him in as soon as possible. Would be good to see Fidel back, he was starting to become quite a force IMO.
Was a shame that he got injured, so badly as well. Is Rampaul too fat for Tests? I've seen him puffing, second spell, in an ODI or two of recent.

I am not sure, he seems fairly fit and at least deserves one chance considering his exceptional performance over the last 2 months.

West Indies players are currently taking part in a practice match to help the selectors choose a final team. They played on an absolute road with Devon Smith scoring 130 not out (opposition team didn't have any decent spinners!) and Marlon Samuels hit 216 from 150 balls. The bowling figures were as follows:
Kemar Roach 17-3-68-2
Fidel Edwards 10-1-32-1
Andre Russell 8-1-66-0
Darren Sammy 16-8-64-3
Ravi Rampaul 6-0-44-0
It's not looking good for Russell or Rampaul based on that performance, though Russell did make some runs as well. I reckon the test side will be:
Devon Smith
Brendan Nash
Darren Bravo
Ramnaresh Sarwan
Shivnarine Chanderpaul
Marlon Samuels
Carlton Baugh Jr (wk)
Darren Sammy
Kemar Roach
Fidel Edwards
Devendra Bishoo
Nash moving up to open is the only way we can accomodate him, Shiv and Samuels who demands selection due to his regional performances. Unless of course they drop Shiv after his public spat with the WICB.

WIF,
wow what an innings!
Why Sammy over Ravi? Ravi is about 8-10 mph quicker.

Rampaul is a strange bowler. He either bowls like a dream, or serves up complete and utter shite.
