Fark me they have been taking lessons from Blatter.
The qunt has now implemented an internal task force to investigate corruption and report back to the executive committee

I'm just glad that in both football and cricket, England is still vaguely trying to do the right thing.

rofl@mudge...the london olympics have there own story
this morning on radio there was spirited debate about which was the worst Int sporting outfit - FIFA, IOC, ICC or the rabble that run cycling.... no consensus other than all were woeful and run by corrupt meatheads

What was the name of the Aussie Olympics guy who flooded the IOC with gifts and then got his daughter to be an Olympic torch bearer? Kevin Gosper? If London ran a dirty campaign then you can bet your life Sydney did as well, so look out for your glass house, horrie.

Now we are, but I agree with your statement minus the still. Unless I've got the context wrong. The antipodeans will have their shout and some of it's true, however.
Re: ICC Announce New Anti Corruption head
Meh, it's a bit like Global Warming. People get all het up about it, but WTF can us punters do about it? Other than jibber about it on a forum, that is.

Re: ICC Announce New Anti Corruption head
Wow. Unless I'm reading this all wrong, the only problem with appointing a man with 30 years experience as a police officer as the head of the anti-corruption unit in the ICC, is that he is Indian. Wow.
If I'm not reading it all wrong, I'm not sure whether I should be offended, amused or just hopeful that you get well soon.

...have absolutely no doubt there were shenanigans re the winning Sydney bid
learnt this morning that the losers who run Oz soccer voted for Blatter instead of abstaining...when it comes to the moral high ground Oz tends to the leap on the nearest anthill

Re: ICC Announce New Anti Corruption head
It's not that they had much choice then. They wanted someone just corrupt and racist.
If they'd wanted the hypocritically corrupt and racist, the Aussies were lining up in droves. If they wanted the ineffectually corrupt and viciously racist the Sith Effricans were eagerly available. If the wanted the murderously and comically corrupt and racist, here come the singing and dancing Pakistanis. If they wanted the ganja smoking petty- bourgeois small timer corrupted, the Windnians planned to trip over some time. If they wanted just the corrupt, the Lankans would have given it a shot. If they wanted the sheep f*ckers they would have bloody well asked, so f*ck off New Zealand. And if they wanted just the plain incompetents, the English were sidling up looking all modest and incompetent. But they didn't did they?
All in all, the best man won.

Or they could've looked outside the square. If he's honest I give him six months.

Well maybe an acknowledged incorruptible politician from a non-alligned country is the way to go. Or even one from a cricket playing country without a dynastic political system. Tim Fischer or that ex Kiwi pol there always using to put out fires in the South Pacific. Same name as an old Kiwi Bears front rower.
