How the Bannies have killed Test cricket
No incentive to aspire to Tests
"Trent Copeland emerged as a telling reminder of Test cricket's lowered place in Australian cricket's pay structure"
...and...
"Should he play in the series and the South African tour that follows it, Copeland will be upgraded to a CA deal, but his relatively modest means have provided an instant reminder of how little financial incentive there is left to aspire to a Test career, for all the talk about the lure of the baggy green not being diluted by T20 money."

Just like this Forum site has become, it's all about fanfare and flashy entertainment.
I blame the Bannies and IPL. Qunts.

Oh Dear ...The poor boy only gets $75K for 6 months work as a Shield squad member ...if he gets a Test Career that will rise to at least $300K a year ...sounds like financial incentive to me

I don't think Copeland is complaining. Yeah, it may be a beat up, but when the likes of Warner can earn millions, it truly is an indictment on the game.
And true, Hild!ck is an arseclown trying yet again to deflect atttention from his own incompetence.

Maybe the compromise is freeing up gaps in the calendar for some form of T20 travelling circus outside of traditional test slots. Dumping JAMODIs would do this.
