This match was played on the pitch as the previous game - weird result.

Bad day at the office for the cubs. They've got the senior side's wildly inconstant one-day form down pat.
Good signs.

3rd game today.
England posting 282 and Jimmy Taylor getting another hundred.
Ben St Oakes smashing a quick 72 and the Lankans already 3 down for not many...

We did play a ringer in 'Boyd Rankin' though. Absolute pile of crap that he can play for the Lions whilst still repping Oireland.

A lower order score of 29 and 2 wickets for 38.
Geoff Miller and Cook must be drooling over those figures. Not. Must do better!

Makes a lie of Lions coach David Parsons' comment after the thrashing the other day that "the results aren't important in these games - they're about developing cricketers to play for England".
Would seem to me drafting in Ireland's opening bowler - a guy with two World Cups under his belt - is more of a results-based short term selection that one with England in mind...

You know we all want an attack of Tremlett, Finn and Rankin on a bounce-a-lot.
