Ah, but we do. But the students pay it themselves and accumulate a Higher Education Loan. They can pay it off at any time (something I urge my girls to do each year only to be ignored) but are only forced to start paying back once they reach a certain threshhold of annual earnings. Of course, until then they accumulate interest payments, but Y-Geners don't seem to GAF about such trifling palaver.

So the same as the UK? I had heard somewhere it was free.

Back in my day at Uni it was free (a short window of opportunity under the silly pinkos) but now those with unshaven armpits and snatches must pay their way.

Fraser was the only sensible one amongst them. Still, I'm grateful for being in that window when Uni Union Fees, text books and beer were my only education expenses.

Saffie couple I used to know. I was told they had taken Aussie nationality because of the free uni.
