Did Gary apologise?
Seem to recall getting ridiculed by him just as England won 3-0 for saying that India could well win 5-0 in the ODI's?
Been away dealing with life, sh!t and more sh!t so haven't been able to look in until now to pick up my 'dues'
Anything else happen in FB world? I hear England players got a bit arsey with each other and some Pak dudes are now wary of picking up the soap in the shower.

Gary is a Yorkie - so he's not likely to apologise for anything. Apart from that and the reappearance of Merlin, you've missed sod all

Re: Did Gary apologise?
Gary's hardly been here either. But he probs wouldn't apologise anyway. Yeah, make me seem like a rabid curmudgeon who took pleasure out of outlining the massive inadequacies of the English ODI side, then when it's time to pay the piper he's all 'disappeary'. Sherbert.
Lever, hope things are a little better anyway.

Re: Did Gary apologise?
Oh Gazza's a top fella, but he did post like he'd just looked at me and i'd got three heads after I mentioned the possibility of a 5-0
I just took into account the 3-0 ODI win was a bit fortuitous and that with no Anderson or Broad our bowling could be utter fodder in their conditions as well as the fact we're shoite when we have to force the pace against spin.
Didn't see a jot after the 1st odi.... looking at the stats it seems Finn came out with some brownie points in the credit. FatSam played one innings of substance and the Ginger Wizard didn't really kick on.
Oh, and cheers. Yeah, life goes on...

Aye, no problems with Gary, it was a bit of a sardonic comment... what you didn't see then, is GingWiz looking like a 9 year old girl against spin bowling - I'm not sure I've seen such a foot-planting prodder who's a specialist batsman. The Anderson remark, yes in our own conditions... doubtful his brand of 'feed me' would've gone too well over there anyway. We missed Broad for sure, he's the only pacer worth his ODI salt, although as you (and Trev throughout the series) said, Finn seems to have upped his credentials.

Sad... a change in avatar could be called for then.

Re: Did Gary apologise?
Well, I can't figure out how he's going to score runs considering he's usually going to be coming out to the middle in the mid-late overs where spin is the most prevalent. Possibly similar with Stokes, as well, who also looked pretty shitehouse against the spin.
Re: Did Gary apologise?
Well they either improve or they'll be county hacks for the rest of their careers. How did Dernbach go? Didn't do as well with his variations as i'd hoped, so probably another one to chalk off soon...

bullsh!t. Utter bullsh!t. 'Death bowler' my arse. He was busy bowling wides and half-trackers at the death. Cost us one match at least. He wouldn't be bad if he used the slower ball(s) as a surprise and kept it full and straight most of the time. As it is, back to the drawing board.

The match threads were decidedly empty. You won't find a great deal of bile, comparatively.
Re: Did Gary apologise?
Oh, I dunno.... the 4th was a cracking read. TO going all uber nationalistic on us and mincing over England being a bit twattish on the field. Bit like a hooker complaining about some chick being a bit loose...

Aye that's TO though, I suppose his material is different but the message is always the same: "I would like to weight my judgement unfairly in the direction of the team I support. Because I support them."... Surely you didn't expect anything else!

Borthwick was disappointing - one of the reasons for playing a leggie is that they turn the ball more than orthodox spinners. Borthwick in the match he played spun the ball markedly less thatn the India spinners. Either he was bowling to orders (in God's name why if that's the case) or he really isn't a big spinner of the ball.

I don't think I've seen him turn it appreciably in the 8-12 times I've seen him. Ironically I think his googly has got more threat to it.
Re: Did Gary apologise?

Re: Did Gary apologise?
We're all too distraught over the ODI loss that followed it. The country is in mourning. There's a great article in this thread actually, the author really captures what the mood is like in England after the agonising defeat we have just endured.
