Well, if WA beating NSW in a shield final by an innings means Victoria doesn't make the final, in the grand scheme of things there's not much wrong with that.horace wrote:the great pity in all this is that the smashing of the Spivs was not in a Shield final.

If the Dubbers end up losing nifty nev because of Haddin hanging around I will be ropeable.
What services?
His wicketkeeping has always been garbage. He has spent his whole career fumbling & bumbling behind the stumps. At one time, his batting was okay but surely his inept glovework cost us three times as many runs as he scored. Australia should have selected a competent keeper to replace Gilchrist. We have no possible reason to thank Brad Haddin.

fair enough...the floggings the Toxics gave the Spivs in the Finals brought joy throughout the land....sure I would love to see the Vix make the final and win it but right royal floggings of the NSW (test) team are great fun

sage...Hartley a more than competent keeper and a fair bat was the better option

and Haddit doing a passable imitation of Aquacker is funny
btw I could see no sign of bitterness in the comments...only wonder that 7 in the spiv side were considered sufficiently worthy by Hildy to represent the country

...that the other 4 un test capped dubbers would have been eventually capped by Hilditch is also cause for relief and a good laugh

Re: Australian Domestic Cricket 2011/12 (II)
Tassie are now only four points off the lead in the Shield & only two points behind Qld who looked to have a mortgage on a finals place early in the season but have faultered badly with the finish line in sight.
Tassie cleaned up the Billies this morning with Cowen & Bailey both scoring half tons. Earlier Tweety finished with a nine wicket haul for the game. He has now taken 32 wickets in just five games. If he was still in NSW the media would be hailing him as the new DKL but as he is in Tassie you won't hear a whisper....farking typical.

The billies seem to have reverted to their traditional practice of being early summer champs but late season chumps

I saw Bird in a Ryobi - wasn't overly impressive but I guess line and length get better reward in proper cricket.

Aye. For a guy who is still learning his craft he has an uncanny knack of hitting the right spot.

There are plenty of good Dubbers, its just that none of them play for NSW.

You'd better hope so cause it looks like WA are going to be bowled out in under 40 overs.
