Australian captaincy - a matter of urgency Empty Australian captaincy - a matter of urgency

Post by Zat Fri 06 Jan 2012, 03:34

Here's a horrendous thought. With Clarke's back injury due to flare up again - it always seems to after he's had a longish knock - it would mean the 44th Australian Test captain would be Brad Haddin.

A bloke who has seemingly lost all confidence with the bat, and who has forgotten what the gloves he wears behind the stumps are for.

The selectors must act in the national interest and sack Haddin forthwith, or risk cheaping the top job forever.

They'll probably go back to Ponting before they give Haddin the Captaincy. Or Hussey. Or even Dave Warner, who they've apparently identified as a potential Australian captain in five years time.

Hard to argue with this logic. Haddit had a poor game with the gloves.

I think they'd rush official Vice captain Watto back into the squad to captain, but.

Haddin is also a proven cheat. He wouldn't be fit to captain Australia even if he was playing like Gilchrist in his prime.
