England Lions tour of the Bangles
Won the first game by 4 wickets
http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/545674.html
3 of the top 4 I remember from previous Bangladesh sides.
Jack Brooks 3 for 28, Briggs 4 for 41. Borthwick had a stinker, and Dellos love child smashed a quickish 40.
Jimmy Taylor 24 off 56 balls!?
Should be a good tour for these lads, tough conditions.... think our U19's have a miserable record over there too.

WTF is Wakely?
Surprised sexual Brooks isn't injured, he usually is.
I've fixed the following for you:
"My love child had a stinker, and Dellos love child smashed a quickish 40."

WTF has Wakely actually done to justify all your jizzing?
And come on, my touting of Borthwick is nothing like the bordering-man love of Dello

He hasn't done anything, as painstakingly previously mentioned Trev bawled because he was in a 'C' Team equivalent - so I like to lob a gag in... it's no biggie, honest. But he had a decent season all-round.
You and Dello were neck-and-neck in the Borthgasm stakes.

2nd match of the series today, after Bangles beat the Lions on Sunday.
Jack Brooks? Is there no better prospect around?

7/163. 30 more runs should be a match winning innings.
Nazimuddin is 90 not out.

It's to do with his headbands. He has a variety of colours that he likes to change after every over. What's not to like?
Re: England Lions tour of the Bangles
So they see some DK Lillee in him. A deep red or green of Northants surely isn't catchy enough as a colour to warrant a spot, maybe when he wears pink or a glowing orange.
Lions won the match by 6 wickets after a Bairstow 50. Nazimuddin not out on 99.

No place for James Harris?
Saving him for the longer form I imagine. That's where he's deadlier.

Re: England Lions tour of the Bangles
Are they playing any proper cricket on this this tour or is it all hit and giggles?

No, I noted Borthwick. That's a few rungs below having a Mudgegasm in my undercrackers at the mere mention of his name. He has been noted.
Having taken a harder look at him, he's also been given the famous Dello downgrade to potential shitmuncher on account of not giving his leg-break enough rip.
That too makes the notes.
Re: England Lions tour of the Bangles
You noted him more than twenty times. You noted him in the face. You noted him in the kitchen. You noted him on your patio, when the neighbours could see. Notes were flying around every day.
I agree, though, a shitmuncher. OK, he probably eats his sh!t with a knife and fork, but a shitmuncher he is.

Re: England Lions tour of the Bangles
Sometimes you just go crazy with your noting before you realise it's all a bit empty and unfulfilling. And your writing finger has started to chafe.
A bit like Pot Noodle. I caned them for about a month after "discovering" them. Never again.

Wonder if Flower still likes Pot Noodles, because Borthwick got around... Flower was noting him more than you.... he even tried to go official and make Borth his 'one true note'. I reckon even now, Flower's chomping on a Chicken & Mushroom.

Borthwick is in danger of becoming the next Chris Schofield. Danny Briggs is a better bet these days. I reckon he'll oust Monty soon enough as England's second spinner.

Briggs'll have to do better than 38 @ 36.55, though, won't he? There's no point in, say, creaming ones knicks because 'he's young', is there? Or will he be the #2 spinner by virtue of his batting and fielding, Fletcher-style?
Re: England Lions tour of the Bangles
38 @36.55....Is that his List A record? Meh. Has over 100 first class wickets at around 30, which is more relevant, imo. Also, his batting is merely 'Night watchman potential', and his fielding is solid without being spectacular.

Re: England Lions tour of the Bangles
No, it was his FC record last season with some not-too-bad pitches as his work tools. I'm all for the 2nd spinner being the one who is performing the best, not because he's still got bum-fluff 'pon chin.
Re: England Lions tour of the Bangles
But seeing as Swanny is safe and secure as our number 1 spinner, wouldn't it be better to get a young guy into the setup and bring him on, giving him valuable experience, rather than having the tried and tested Monty hanging around mixing the drinks tour after tour?

Re: England Lions tour of the Bangles
Considering Graeme 'That's The Way I Play' Swann has slight injury clouds above his head, I'd prefer to see Monty step into the team rather than some greenhorn with no form. If I were Hants, I'd be trying to get Briggs some winter games or sticking him in an academy - as we did with Monty, I still cannot see what taking a youngster on tour really does for them - especially as you say, to mix drinks. It's not like 1922 when they can't go to these places anyway...
Re: England Lions tour of the Bangles
Briggs unfortunately for him is a one dimensional player. You've got to be a sh!t hot finger spinner to get a place in a test side these days without any batting talent.
As for Borthwick, I believe I also 'noted' the lad rather than giving him the kudos of any 'lever pick of 2011' award.
Dellos dissing of Pot Noodle is abysmal forumming.

Well, obviously they're considered fine-dining in Scotchland. In a similar way to living to 40 being considered a long innings.
