Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
You knew it was coming.
I expect the Gabba curator to produce a raging greentop as the Billies (apparently) rate their bowling attack over ours but rate our batting over theirs. I guess they hav'nt heard of Jackson (Tweety) Bird.

As usual, 83.3% of the country will support Tassie.

Drunky's first ever Shield Final. Hope he makes a double. On paper the Tozzies look by far the stronger side.
I was surprised that the Banjos finished top, given that they seemed to lose everything through the summer. But they had an outstanding October and November, winning their first 5 games, then hibernated before smashing the Barrels in the final game.

I think its Punters second final. I seem to recall he played in a losing final early in his career.
Re: Shield Final: Mighty Tasmania v Wimpy Billies, 2011-12
Wouldn't surprise me, BD. I was quoting this Cricket Australia website article. Given how shit it has been this season, an error is certainly not out of the question.
"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. It's going to be Ricky Ponting's first Shield final and I'm sure he's going to be well up for that game."

Interesting to see if Jackson Bird can break the big bird's long-standing record for the most scalps in a SS season.

About as ugly and stoopid as each other.embee wrote:You cant blame CA ...all they did was quote Silent Les ...
Any reputable website worth it's salt would've added a "For the record, Hope was mistaken. Ponting played in the 94 Shield Final." But that would've required the author to actually check. Might've taken all of 30 seconds, but clearly was clearly beyond him.
But then again, I guess I could've done that myself. [Gives self upper cut]

Don't blame yourself, Skulls.
You've got 30-40 other people on here to do that.

A sixth of the population of Oz live in Qld?
Or I suppose you are just "normalising" across 6 states.

Tassie have cut stand-in keeper Brady Jones from the squad to travel to Brisbane for the final as Tom Triffitts hand has recovered sooner than expected. Also cut were Jon Wells & Ben Laughlin. Cossie will undergo a fitness test today to see if he will be included.
