There was a huge article on Geraint in our press yesterday.

Would be good to see the Afghans getting through but you'd imagine that Ireland, the Scotch and the Dutch have a fair chance.

wins for Denmark, Netherlands, Scotland and Nepal.

Amjad Khan should've been playing for Denmark, would have completed an all star tournament list.

Will Hamish Marshall ever play for Ireland?

I thought they'd have picked Marshall up by now. He toured India in 2010 with Ireland. Maybe they don't think he's good enough!

After a bit of scouring, here's possibly why he didn't play the World Cup.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/ireland/content/story/519441.html

Silly rule, to be honest. He won't play for Ireland then.

Pretty certain Marshall cannot play for a Test nation, due to his previous times as a Kiwi.

Geez it'd be great to see some of these sides kick on. War-tornedness may fark the Afghanis and Guinness the Irish.

How grouse would it be if the Pizza-eaters became a world force? My guess is they (and any others) will need to find a chucker of world class to move forward.

Wasn't Stuart Law eligible to play for England? Don't think cricket has those football type rules.

Pity they didn't change the law years ago. The Aussies would have had to keep bloody Wessels.

Why are the Yanks even playing this tournament? They're too lousy even for this.

Geraint Jones got 39 today. PNG still lost.

Did some searching, here are the official rules on that

C. REPRESENTING MORE THAN ONE NATIONAL CRICKET FEDERATION:
Nothing in the Regulations shall operate to prohibit a Player from representing more than one National Cricket Federation during his/her playing career. However, the following additional requirements shall apply:

7. where a male Player is seeking to qualify to play for a Full Member, he must not have participated in an International Match for any other Full Member during the immediately preceding four years;

8. where a male Player is seeking to qualify to play for an Associate or Affiliate Member, he must not have participated in an International Match for any other National Cricket Federation (irrespective of its membership status) during the immediately preceding four years;

9. where a female Player is seeking to qualify to play for any other National Cricket Federation (irrespective of its membership status), she must not have participated in an International Match for any other National Cricket Federation (irrespective of its membership status) during the immediately preceding two years; and

10. no Player shall be entitled to seek to qualify for a different National Cricket Federation more than once, unless the second qualification sought is for the same National Cricket Federation for whom he/she originally played prior to his/her re-qualification.

NOTE: No restrictions shall apply to any male Player seeking to qualify to play for a Full Member where he has previously participated in an International Match for an Associate or Affiliate Member.

Only two countries for a player (if I understood it correctly) is the only real restriction.

Ahh, cheers man. Four years...

I'm certain that England will not pick a player who has played for another full member (though we'll rob the f*ck out of the Irish if we see fit!).

Aye, there's no chance that either Law or Marshall would've played for England. What's weird is how anti-associate/affiliate the rules are though.

Bermuda lost to Hong Kong, they've really sunk from the heady heights of the Leverock catch against India.
