Abominable. It's a travesty that the mighty have fallen so far. Maybe shows that the likes of Tikolo and Odoyo should be respected more than they were.
Re: Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers
I'd think it's fair to say Odumbe's match fixing scandal had a major role to play in their demise, not to mention, the allegations of extortion by him.
Top cricketer was Steve Tikolo.

Re: Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers
Namibia win again and seem to be one of the few teams to be able to score at Twenty20 RRs. Hundred for Louis van der Westhuizen. Is he a male version of Minky van der Westhuizen?
Uganda, Afghanistan and Nepal won too.
Do Netherlands have one decent home born player? Possibly only Pieter Seelaar. Cries out for the Bas Zuiderent, Tim de Leede era.

AVT was FAST!!!!!!
Mark Butcher said he made Waqar look like a medium pacer!
I saw him live at a county match once, he was lightning. Sprayed it plenty though. Shame really... he could've been a contender.

Re: Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers
He could've been somebody.
But he would never have been a Brando.
Or even a Jake la Motta.
More of a raging bum.

Brando? All he was good for was storing food in the pouches of his jowls.
La Motta liked to look in the mirror alot asking himself whether he was talking to himself.
Can't see the fascination. Or even the fascinator.

Sharma missed out due to bad luck.
Seriously though, of course he'll have more credibility than Atul Sharma, this wasn't some headline chasing hyperactive journalist's recommendation.

Re: Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers
Seems to me his motivation's a little off. A little too crepuscular in his delivery. He's too busy thinking about filling his pouches up with seeds, plant roots and insects.
Re: Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers
Shakti Gauchan took a hat-trick as Nepal notched up his second successive victory in Group A of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier UAE 2012 when it defeated Denmark by nine wickets in a one-sided contest at the ICC GCA Oval 1 on Wednesday.
Gauchan, a 27-year-old wrist spinner, returned figures of 4-0-20-4 as Denmark's decision to bat first after winning toss badly backfired after it was spun out for 82 in 19.2 overs. Besides Gauchan, Prithu Baskota took two for four.
Denmark opener Frederik Klokker with 21 runs to his name was his side's top scorer.
In turn, Pradeep Airee slapped seven fours and four sixes in an electrifying 43-ball 65 not out as Nepal raced to victory with nine wickets and 7.2 overs to spare. Airee featured in a 77-run unfinished second wicket partnership with Sharad Vesawkar whose contribution was 13 not out.
Reflecting on his performance, Gauchan said: "I have taken one hat-trick in domestic cricket before, but this is my first international hat-trick. It was a very good time to take a hat-trick in a match for me."
"When I took my hat-trick, I ran away from the wicket and slid on my chest like a football player.
"I am also a big football fan, I like to watch the football, and I like to celebrate like a football player.
"We needed to get a good start to the tournament and we have done a lot of hard work over the last three months.
"We want to participate in the World Cup and hopefully we can do well in the rest of the tournament.
"We think that if we play good cricket, we can win, and beat any team."
Shakti Klinsmann, or is it Jurgen Gauchan.
It's being streamed live, hopefully the qunts at quipu.tv will keep it free this time.

That was the unspoken understanding behind not picking Nic Pothas when we were scrambling about headlessly, trying out any old cricketer who owned or knew someone who owned and would lend him a pair of wicket-keeping gloves.
Still, it all worked out. We had to kiss a few Chris Read-shaped frogs, but we ended up with Matt Prior. From South Africa.
Re: Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers
And Tim Ambrose. The wk pos got very international after Alec. Minus Foster.
