2 and 1/2 inches of rain expected in the next 24 hours. Never quite know what that means but it looks bad on the forecast.

Re: Beautiful Weather in Blighty :)
Trott seems to find Old Blighty's weather beautiful.
Interviewed on Cricinfo in response to a question comparing the climate in SA and England...
Surely you prefer the climate in South Africa?
No, I don't mind the rain. You get some good days here. Let me tell you: when the sun shines, there is no better country in the world than England. You can have the mountains and the oceans, but May and June in England are perfect. There's nowhere better. Every time I've been back to Cape Town - for weddings, a holiday or whatever - I've always moved my flight so I can go home earlier. It's nothing to do with crime or political reasons. I just didn't enjoy being away from home. And home is Birmingham.
It's not the first time I've heard in say it either. A couple of years ago he said that Birmingham is a nicer place to live than Cape Town.

And then he retires and moves straight back to SA.

It is 9am here and the temperature has crept up to 8 degrees here and is set to peak at a measly 21.
I hate winter.

Ironically enough they recently played a tournament in Zim. with no interruption from the elements, are currently playing in Durban, while oz will host the Under 19 tournie during late winter. England can't get its summer act together though.

I think Trotts pretty settled here, and like Lamb & Smith will call this country home. However, there are places that are as nice as CT in England (in a different way) but Birmingham isn't one of them

Really? Lots of them with table mountains?
Have to agree on Brum though.

Depends what culture you've been brought up in, we don't really have a beach culture so it does nothing for me personally. I'd live in a quiet village somewhere in the Cotswolds in a shot.
I'm sure Brum is better than its reputation but its a bit like saying sod Sydney... i'd rather live in Frankfurt.

I was joking. (a bit)
Cape Town has breathtaking scenery, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
But would I live there? Fark no.
Beach culture? No, the sea is too cold to swim in. The weather is okay in summer, bur shite in winter. It's a winter rainfall area which means the winters are miserable Nd you get droughts in summer.
The people are insular and are bone idle. And it's the gay capital of SA.
But it possibly beats out Birmingham.

Brum is better than it used to be - it was a fairly desperate place in the 80s, but much has been done to re-develop the centre. Still wouldn't want to live there though.

Re: Beautiful Weather in Blighty :)
Birmingham's a f*cking funny place.... I've spent a shitload of time there - I sort of lived there for a good six months. I like it though, it's a slagheap. A proper mashup. But the accent is comical and they know it. I don't think I could take a bit of bad news there without feeling like I was going to laugh about it. That is all.
