Unfair for the Windies to lose a review there where England didn't lose one yesterday after bowling a no-ball. Reviews that are overturned on an "umpire's call" basis should not be lost, imho.

TV not obliging. Looks weird now, can't tell the difference between Strauss and Chanderpaul.taipan wrote:Try adjusting the contrast

They made some terrible reviews during their home series against us but also were unlucky with marginal umpires' calls.

Can you see the hotspot though. Like the one on Trott's bat?

Oh yes, that was as clear as day, and not the uselessly dull day in London.

Well. I never. Plenty of time for WI to get back into the game but it's looking a little ominous. Still, this Lord's pitch usually just improves so there's a long way to go in the Test.
Re: England v West Indies, 1st Test, Lords, 17-21 May, 2012
Strauss' last century in a home Test was 161 on this ground in the Ashes series 3 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, RR is about 3 and we needed some solidity to wrest any ascendancy but by f*ck our top three are a huge crabgasm.
Re: England v West Indies, 1st Test, Lords, 17-21 May, 2012
Straussy dropped on 95 and it was a no-ball anyway! Mentalism.
Re: England v West Indies, 1st Test, Lords, 17-21 May, 2012

Strauss becomes 3rd England captain to score a century v. the Windies at HQ following Ray Illingworth in 1969 and Michael Vaughan (twice) in 2004.

Strauss & Trott's 2nd wicket partnership of 147 was the 2nd highest for this wicket by an England pair v. the West Indies at Lord's behind Strauss & Key's 291 in 2004.

The over rate seems to be shite, still need to get well more than 15 overs bowled in half an hour.

Luck plays a big part in cricket.... get used to it.
Johann and the Nutjob cruising now ... a win by an innings almost certain now,
providing the rain keeps away.
