You have to be having a laugh. His Durham team mate Davies is 10 times better.
Smacks of military medium though, even if he is 6'4'. I'm impressed with him and his loan moves prove he can do it in different conditions, just not sure we need another pop-gun pacer even if the ones we have got in ATM are our best bowlers.

Ten times better for the two games per year he's actually fit to play in...

Missing Tres and Fred as they are, some chances have gone begging. They need to get some decent slips from somewhere.Mick Sawyer wrote:The immediate way forward is a vast improvement in fielding and catching skills.

Somehow teams such as England have lost the plot when it comes to keepers.
A keeper in involved with every delivery. His "specialist" skills are the most frequently used in the team yet selectors somehow believe that a potential extra 20 runs in a match somehow outweigh the contribution a gloveman makes.
Don't forget how a non-wicket-taking spinner who averages 18 in tests is more important than a tailender who gets top-order batters out cheaply.

............... and I reckon that's on the high side.
I knew England were fecked as a force in the game when Alec Stewart continued to be played as their keeper.
They won in Pakistan and SL with him as keeper, and won their first five-test series (against SA, in 1998) since the Gatting tour of Australia.
He became a very good keeper, and batted them out of some holes too.

Davies is a class act. I saw him for a match this season and, dare I say it, he was very McGrath like. Nipped it off a length, had a bit of something extra over every other bowler. A talent that won't be fulfilled because of his appaling injury record.

Yeah, Onions is just what England need- Another bowler with a bit of pace and bounce but with no idea where the ball is going:roll: . England's young fast bowlers are the most naive in world cricket. Only the one's from Yorkshire seem to have a brain to go with their talent.

England will evetualy be successful, the game goes in cycles.
I rate Eng a much better chance of being successful sooner than the WIndies.
