India (A) without a spinner is like KFC without any chicken.

left armer i think. not seem him much, bit nippier than pathan
i am guessing the tour matches may be on green wickets with no spin and the tests will be on turners with 3 spinners in the side

Can see that happening. Seems a dodgy preparation, India A first before Mumbai, who could easily field powderpuff if needed, and one not announced. What are England playing at?

Does it really matter? There's no need whatsoever to 'undercook' us. Whether or not we face trial by 25 spinners in the warm-ups, come the Tests we'll be sucking our thumbs in the foetal position within a half hour.
Re: India A vs England
No spinner but plenty of slow bowlers.

Well, I know many of your countrymen have been looking forward to this ever since we "prepared those four green tops" for your tour here.
So, I think it was expected that this series would be on the dustiest of bowls. But, we'd still lose if you prepared us green tops anyway, so it really matters little.
Of course, it's not really called "preparing a green top", it's called "life in England", but whatever.

I can't understand South Africa's logic of nullifying the effect and increasing the risk of injury of arguably their best batsman by making him keeper whilst a 19 year old is producing impressive performances demanding to be picked. Ah well.

i agree. its a terrible road to go down. home advantage has always been a bit subtle, withdraw a few top players, play the tour match at a small venue, have a pitch thats quite different from the 1st test. but this is a sledgehammer
wonder if it works and it does a mental job on the tourists. if it continues for the other 2 matches against bombay A and the other team then the likes of bell may well be terrified come 15th november

may well backfire if the english batsmen pile on the runs and get confident of playing on these pitches

Also means that a young spinner on the fringe (Harmeet?) Wont have the chance to put himself in contention for a test spot. I'm sure Harbhajan would have also appreciated the chance to remind people of what he can do.
Everyone loses, really.

Re: India A vs England
Also, if they prepare green seamers for the warm up games, it'll give England's quicks the chance to damage the confidence of some of India's fringe batsmen.
Inevitably, on a tour of India, England have already secured the moral victory.
Now all we need is some nationalistic, English-hating, false premise riddled piece of sh*t article from Sunil Gavaskar to really set the moral trophy in stone.

Re: India A vs England
Aye, it's incredibly sad when 'experts' cite the English 'pitches' as something we could control. To me, they seemed like belters - I'm just so, so sorry that we couldn't control the overhead conditions - we tried our best, but however much we all blew towards the clouds in the sky, they just wouldn't move. We even sacrificed to the God Ambisagrus, to no avail.
