Well done to the Storm. Looks like they'll be a force again this year. And the Drags showing why Bellamy said "Phurt" to big offers to coach the 2013 wooden spooners. Steve Price is no Wayne Bennett.

Big Head & Grog Fella syndrome. For "indefinitely" read "until Round 1".JGK wrote:Bloody hell, the season hasn't even started yet...

I must say I was mightily impressed with the CEO of the Bullies...he gave a really well measured and considered press conference...first time I can recall a Sydney or brisbane leeeeeg club talk sense ....the guy could get a job at the Melbourne Storm

Yes he is. Sounds like he and Des will make a pretty good team.

Was it Canterbury's own pokies that the bloke was doing his arrse on?
At least that would it would not be a total loss for them then.

Re: Rugby League 2013
Hadn't read much of the Ben Barba story, thinking "just another dickhead bigheaded footballer" moment, but I wondered about the EBC tattoo on his stomach. Turns out it's right up there with Ben Cousins' "Such is Life" belly tatt. EBC stands for Epic Bender Crew, a Cronulla-based mob Barba joined last Christmas. They thrive on their reputation of non-stop alcohol and drug benders that go from Friday knock-off to Monday clock-on. Allegedly Barba has been off his face for the past 2 months.
I'm sure Dessie has some choice words when he found out.
There's a fair bet Barba will suffer the same fate as the Eels' Chris Sandow. An absolute genius one year (at Souths), then a fat unfit beer sucker (at the Eels) the next.

Re: Rugby League 2013
How good is it to have some Rugby League back on our TV screens instead of that rubbish cricket series in India?
Answer - Very good
.......... and in a couple of weeks we will have the first round of the AFL season as well. Much better than watching the Australian cricketers in action.

Re: Rugby League 2013
Various rumours flying around at the moment from a mate of mine:
“Newcastle are next. Apparently seven players to be suspended. Jeramy smith will be caught up. Manly have 17 players still involved. Rumour has it they will be stripped of 2008 and 2011 premierships. Menzies has rolled over to ASADA. Des Hasler has been giving supplements to manly and Canterbury players knowingly. Sharks are just the first house of cards to tumble...”
