Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Yarn on the Social Bloody today (Ch 7 I think) that the Sidneyland Libs are trotting out none other that John W Howard to launch their election extravaganza (their first choice, Robert Menzies, being reluctantly reconsidered due to being a) Victorian and b) dead). (John, you do realise you have the option of telling those clowns to sod off and clean their own mess and going back to the gardening, don't you?)
Inspired by this image of confidently striding into a golden future, Carlton FC have announced John Nicholls and Serge Silvagni as poster boys for their 2019 membership drive, and Ford and Holden have announced they will contest this year's Bathurst Bore-athon with fleets of Cortinas and Zephyrs, and FJs and Premiers respectively.

Where's MrK? The bookies are offering 2.15 about Gladys' mob winning the upcoming NSW election. The way I see it, the Pinks will really struggle to get enough seats to form Govt.

When it comes to gambling I'm a total whore if the odds are juicy and seem to be wrong. But the only news I'm getting is GladIwasn'ttheothertwin is becoming increasingly erratic bordering on unhinged.

The Governor of Victoria would save everyone a hell of a lot of money if he just went ahead and pardoned these qunts (the guys doing time). The cops involved and Overland in particular should be all get the max.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Wow. Must say the Dubber election is confusing. Seems to be a bit of controversy of sporting stadium demolitions and rebuilds.
Don't get it as the Spivs rarely turn up in numbers to sporting events, so it can't be capacity issues.
The Labour bloke (who must be campaigning while on bail before returning to his homeland in Long Bay prison) totally towelled up Allan Jones, thinking him for his service to the SCG Trust. Bloody funny. I know nothing about this bloke or why he is in or will be in prison, but giving the Parrot some stick earns him points.
Meanwhile it seems Premier Alphabet is campaigning pretty well. Tough ask on her really. Must be keen to get Abbott and ScuMo to stfu.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
I'd spruce up the suburban grounds and expand them to a fillable capacity. Most of those big Sydney stadiums look sad when only a tenth filled (which apart from one day of the year is always) due to contractual obligations that came with their original financing.
Knock down the SFS and build a multi purpose stadium aimed at entertainment events. Boxing, MMA, WWE, concerts, monster trucks etc. You could give out vouchers to brothels and you wouldn't get anywhere near a half capacity at the place for an NRL game.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
so the Spivs are having an election this Saturday. Who will win? ... Arfur Daley, on day release from stir or current leader, Premier Alphabet.
Premier Alphabet seems that rare Spiv pollie, ie an honest one, although she seems as thick as two short planks. She seems to have royally farked the stadiums redevelopment and the Bloods as well.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Would be a travesty if the ALP won given that the memories of Obeid etc are still fresh.
That said, the Tories are doing their best to stuff it up despite a strong economy. People the city don't trust them after the lock out laws and people in the regions don't trust them after the stadiums.
Also, we may well end up with as many MLC's from the Shooters and Fishers as from the National Party. And the Greens could get slaughtered.

Aye, aye and not so sure.
It's a constant source of massive frustration for me as a conservative voter that the Good Guys always campaign so badly. Daley has turned a "nothing" topic (replacement of a run-down and OHS heavily non-compliant stadium) into a possible election losing issue for Gladys.
And, although it's well and truly a lost cause anyway, I expect they same lame duck campaigning during the run-up to the Feral election.
The massacre in Christchurch may adversely affect the Shooters vote. I'm hoping the preference deal Daley has done with them may count against him.

Howard showing early onset dementia by claiming Daly will water down his federal laws.
Not that any state is NFA compliant. FFS you can buy silencers in NSW.
If Shorten does not hing else in the event of a big majority he should pull out that great Constitution buster, state funding, and tell the boys and girls it's my way or the highway. Not like it's likely to put their huge swag of bush seats at risk.
Community service for carrying a concealed, unregistetable weapon FFS!

Meanwhile Arfur Daley, on day-release from prison distinguishes himself.
Link to unacceptable parolee Daley
He seems to implicitly claim that Chinese emigre Phd holders are smarter than him.
No doubt about that.
