Broadband Connection and iPod help for JKL
Having spent most of this afternoon on the phone to my ISP, I'd really like a fag and a very strong drink to know......
1) Who your ISP is
2) Which connection you have, (speedtouch, wireless with live box or router etc)
3) How much you pay
4) Speed
5) Why that particular ISP
PLEASE help me!

Thanks JKL
I really liked AOL when I had it.
Was nice speaking to the technical people for free. I believe you have to pay now though.
I have speedtouch at the moment with Wanadoo/Orange for £17.99 a month.
My son has boughtme himself a laptop so we want to go wireless.

Yeah, despite some people treating AOL as a virus, I actually like it
Here are their latest broadband packages if you want wireless - they've changed from when i signed a contract with them.

Yeah, you have to live in the right area. I'd never qualify for that living in the middle of nowhere in the land that time forgot!

Re: Broadband Connection and iPod help for JKL
My main issue with all these packages that all the ISP's offer is the talk time.
I don't want to change my phone billing at all.
I have a BT line and pay phone charges to Tiscali.
I'm very happy with that.
I mostly use my mobile anyway, but I don't seem to be able to get that point through to them.

Re: Broadband Connection and iPod help for JKL
Seriously, my brain hurts.
I've agreed to the Home Select package (for at least 18 months)
http://www.orange.co.uk/time/broadbandselect/
They sent me a wireless adapter, but then I found out I need a live box.
WTF didn't they know that I didn't have a live box???
I have a feeling I've made the wrong decision.
Why is nothing easy?
Thanks for listening.

1. ENTANET
2. WiFi/router - hi-speed, max capacity - to handle volume emails with large attachments.
3. 19.99 month
4. PDQ
5. One phone call away in the event of a fault - dedicated help line -
ie., a human actually answers it without having to press several buttons or listening to
a bad recording of Verdi or Beethovens 5th.

Not alarmingly no.
Having tried Orange/BT/AOL and Virginal ... my local IT guy reccommended these guys at ENTANET.
been with them 6 months now.
Touch wood, zero problems - and when the Viper server did go down briefly one day last week, one phone call
(lasting 2 minutes) advising me I'd be up and running in 15 minutes, put me right.
Fingers crossed ... I haven't woofed them now !!!

Re: Broadband Connection and iPod help for JKL
1) Who your ISP is: Unwired
2) Which connection you have, (speedtouch, wireless with live box or router etc): Wireless
3) How much you pay: AUD$39.95
4) Speed: Slower than dial up
5) Why that particular ISP: I don't have a Fixed Landline and hence they are the cheapest wireless service on the market.

That's not an Indian accent, that's an American accent. Or atleast it's supposed to be.
