Re: bushfire and weather thread
Summer seems finally to be over down here (Tassie).
Our first night with a minimum below 10 Celsius is forecast tonight; though it must have gone close last night with a significant wind and temperature change.

Re: bushfire and weather thread
Sydney has taken a hammering over the weekend. I spent three hours today in the cold and the rain in the back yard trying to pump water out from under the house and the overflowing pool. And it's still bucketing as I type.
Some of Sydney's most famous beaches have been washaway and the Collaroy surf club is now teetering.
Even my local harbour beach had surfers today.

It's been precipitating to the nth degree down here in Tassie too. Dams that were near empty a month ago are now receiving heavy inflow. Flash flooding has occurred in areas today but there have been no casualties that I know of. I drove 400 km in very unpleasant driving conditions over the weekend and am glad to be home safely. Another 200+ km lined up tomorrow, unfortunately.

Was part of the smashing the East Coast received over the weekend.
I have been without home phone, internet and cable TV for 2 days. Felt like I'd had an arm cut off, FFS.

Sadly the update is of at least 4 drowning fatalities (on the day I drove Launceston to Latrobe and back) and multiple stock losses, as well as very extensive property damage.

Looks like at least 4 in Sydney and surrounds as well.
