Well, it's a legacy of sorts.

I think a no ball seems a little harsh - calling it a dead ball unless the batsman scores off the delivery it would've been my choice - but there you go. It's the law.

Although the small print does say Murali's allowed to elbow the stumps over in delivery, as he's deformed and can't help it.

Well it's less stupid than what was happening, but still all feels unnecessary.

Whether it's switch hits or running into the stumps, England players certainly keep the law makers busy!
