At what age do you think you should be able to buy cigs, booze, have sex, get married, buy glue petrol and knives?

Dem, It's not bout banning the sales to under 25s, it's about asking for ID if you look under 25. Mrs Zat works in retail, and with the fines for selling fags and knives to under agers being immense, her employers have the same policy in place.

Most women are actually flattered to be asked, especially if they're 26 or 27, says Mrs Z.

I'm 23 and got asked for ID today buying booze. It doesn't really bother me because I always have ID on me.

I used to sometimes manage to get cigs when I was 14. No way I could do that now.

Like that'll do any good. Fake IDs are so easy to get. So are friends who are 18. If they want to get drinking of the streets, let 16 year olds into pubs. Only pubs for 16 year olds, obviously, we don't want them being obnoxious in our pubs. But trying to stop it just isn't going to work.

Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll. We should be able to do these at birth. It is our right.

Okay, tonight I was working at Morrison's petrol station. A bloke came in asking for cigs. I knew his brother from when I was a teaching assistant so I knew he wasn't much older than him..... He didn't look over 25 so I asked him for ID (as we have all been told to do. I can be fined £5,000) and he had no ID. I had to refuse sale just because he looks under 25.
He is in fact 20.....2 years older than the age limit for buying fags.
How stupid is that?

Drugs age people faster. So if somebody went heavily at it when on 16, obviously supplied by a Sugar Daddy or Mommy, they could look 25 by the time they are eighteen and would never face these awkward questioning !

The above logic would make sense to those who bought into Bush's justification for the Iraq invasion.

It's illegal for everyone, but the police usually turn a blind eye as long as it's not involving animals.

Kids're little qunts. Some little'uns were let into my local, too boistrous. Don't know how to behave. At that age, I'd been out and about for 3 years - it's not the age, it's the attitude and 95% haven't got it.

Don't think it's an attitude. Think it's a maturity thing. People just don't act like that when you're over 17. Keen little weirdness.
