Looks like it was a good toss to lose. Another warm & sunny day here today so wicket will have plenty of runs.
Aust on the charge already. 63/0 from 13 overs.

top opening spells from Bleak House and the Thompson gunner...both tightened up and accordingly went for less

He had a great first full season (as first-choice SLA) in County Cricket 2011, instrumental in winning the pennant, then sank into averageness in 2012 and went down with his county.
I am hoping for a recovery in 2013. But then I would. He's Lancashire. ....

Perhaps there is something about playing in Tassie. Flat Jack Simmons is still held in very high regard here.

205 off 43 with wickets to spare looks a good platform.
England will need a good innings from Stokes.

Similar conditions, you mean? (It doesn't ALWAYS rain in Manchester, despite the myth.)
I think Jack was as canny as they come. He once returned 8-8-0-0 in a 40 overs match!

I've no idea what Rikki is doing out there, esp if he's not even skippering. He's more long-in-the-tooth pussycat than young lion, at this stage.
Well, perhaps a slight exaggeration, but there is nothing to learn for or about him, nowhere for him to go, so why pick him?

Aust will need to push on in the final five overs. A 250 score would only be par on this wicket.
Re: Australia A v England Lions at Hobart, Feb 22, 2013
Jimmy appears to have fouled up his bowler count - one of the opening bowlers is going to have to switch ends between his last two overs (.... unless he intends someone to replace the leaky Meaker).

True...poms have helped with Bleak House returning to bowl...seems he is channelling Lady Di and bowling tosh and beamers...hit Paine on the finger with a beamer...not what paine needs, given his fingers are as tough as potato crisps

Maybe.
But maybe you underestimate the Pom powers of batting collapse. I imagine McDermott in particular could do some damage.

It strikes me that England don't have a sixth bowler in their team!
I can't see anyone with a FC wicket, at least.

Now watch Meaker disappear for 30 off his final over, to give England the boost they need to chase the total.
